DFA approval granted
- May 2008
At the Mpumalanga Land Development Tribunal held at the Stone Cutters lodge near Dullstroom on the 8 & 9th May 2008, provisional approval was granted for the development of The Buffelskloof Eco-Reserve. We were requested to move 6 stands out of the wetland on the Southern part of the LDA as well as 3 stands which look down onto the road in the Beetgeskraal valley. We were happy to do this as it not only makes for better neighbour relations but will ensure that the stream stays in the pristine condition that it is currently in. Subsequently on the 11th November 2008 final approval was granted by Tribunal. This signifies a major milestone and the culmination of 28 months of work.
The Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture and Land Administration (MDALA) granted authorisation (a positive Record of Decision) for the development on the 21st January 2009.
Say one of the neighbours': "having the Eco-reserve registered as a nature conservation area by law changes a lot of attitudes down here and we are keen to work with Buffelskloof Eco-Reserve towards developing a greater conservancy in the area.
